Over 50 million Americans suffer from some form of mental illness—including 1 in 6 kids ages 6 to 17—but a large percentage of them never get treatment. The biggest reason cited: cost (Mental health statistics 2024, USA Today). And according to a study by Mental Health America, 1 in 4 adults experiencing frequent mental distress could not see a doctor due to cost. With the rising prices of practically everything from goods to services, this number will only increase. But there is good news!
Christ Counseling Ministry offers clinically trained professionals devoted to restoring lives to wholeness in Christ through Christ-centered counseling, teaching, and prayer.
Your Gifts Make it Possible
We believe everyone deserves to be mentally healthy, no matter what their income level is. The ability to offer affordable, professional counseling options is a core piece of who we are as a ministry.
The Fee Assistance Program continues to be the primary program through which this is possible. Approximately 60% of clients take advantage of our Fee Assistance Program each year. They pay at a $35, $65, or $95 rate—and almost 90% of those using the program could only afford to pay $35.
Our desire is to faithfully serve our mission by meeting the increasing demand for low-cost mental healthcare, but it’s only possible through the generous support of our community.
Mental health care gives clients the chance to lead more emotionally healthy and productive lives. With the skills learned through counseling, clients have the ability to regulate emotions, decrease maladaptive behavior patterns, learn tools for appropriate coping strategies, and develop important interpersonal skills.
